Position: Medical Assistant

Location: Kailua Kona, HI

Pay: $ 26 /hour

Experience:

• 1 year of related work experience in a medical office
• 1 year of medical assistant work experience required

Education: Completion of a medical assistant program or additional clinical training preferred

Type: Full-time; Contract

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Kahu Malama Nurses is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a growing and dynamic team!

Job Description:

• Review patient charts before appointments to ensure lab work, diagnostic procedures, and reports are complete and accessible.
• Record vital signs and reasons for visits.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during examinations and procedures.
• Operate equipment, pass instruments, and provide patient comfort during procedures.
• Respond to emergencies appropriately and monitor patients for reactions or complications.
• Administer injections and collect urine specimens as directed.
• Participate in quality assurance and competency training.

Position Requirements:

• Knowledge of medical terminology and transcription preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with healthcare professionals.
• Basic typing and computer proficiency.
• Ability to maintain high customer service standards, even in challenging situations.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
