CareersPosition: 1ST SHIFT GROUND SUPPORT EQUIPMENT WORKER, USCG BASE ELIZABETH CITY NC, SITE ALC, NORTH CAROLINAPosted: 04/25/2022Ground Support Equipment Worker, USCG Base Elizabeth City NCPosition Type:Full TimeEducation Level:High SchoolPay: $30.84Job Shift:DayJob Categories:Aviation MaintenanceDescriptionThe GSE Worker tasks shall include, but are not limited to:* Make repairs to GSE following orders of a higher-grade worker.* Troubleshoot malfunctions of GSE using conventional and digital multi-meters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, circuit card testers, transistor testers, and hand tools.* Prepare GSE for storage and transportation.* Use automated maintenance data systems to maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions.* Maintain external fuel and grounding systems.* Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE.* Inspect, test, and operate GSE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation.* Service equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air.* Disassemble and assemble malfunctioning GSE accessories and components.* Remove, disassemble, repair, clean, treat for corrosion, assemble, and reinstall GSE components and accessories.* Stencil and mark GSE in accordance with technical publications.* Store, handle, label, use, and dispose of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations.* Operate, clean, inspect, and service GSE towing vehicles.* Maintain vehicle records.* Maintain and update paper and electronic equipment records.* Provide dispatch service for GSE, including positioning equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flying operations.* Practice good housekeeping, tool control, FOD prevention and safety at all times.QualificationsRequirements:Three (3) years of documented experience in industrial equipment maintenance supportMust be a U.S. CitizenMust have a valid Driver's License.Must be able to speak, read and write and understand English.Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and / or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned task.Must past pre-employment background check.Must past pre-employment and post-employment drug testing.Must be able to obtain and maintain required Identification Card in order to fulfill the job requirements
