Job Description :
Reports to: Supervisor and or ManagerOverview: Under the direction of the Supervisor or Manager, the group leader is a non-supervisory member of the work group. The GL/TL (group leader / team leader) is responsible for the work product of the team. They are responsible for ensuring adherence to safety, quality, quantity, housekeeping, and company policies, procedures and standards. Responsibilities:
  • Assists Supervisor in their daily work activities
  • Maintains accurate records and records necessary data
  • Performs associate-level assignments and special assignments directed by the Supervisor or Manager
  • Is knowledgeable of all positions in the work group
  • Operates an environment within the department that is positive and encourages employee involvement
  • Assists Supervisor in training and cross training of associates
  • Identify and correct, incorrect processes through job observation and training of new associates.
  • Communicates instructions and/or task assignments from Supervisor
  • Fills vacant associate positions on the line due to personnel shortage
  • Reviews documents such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing, to determine personnel or material requirements or material priorities
  • Requisition and maintain inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands
  • Meet with department supervisors or other personnel to assess completeness, accuracy and conformance to standards and specifications
  • Must be flexible in shift assignments and ability to work overtime as required
  • Suggests and supports affective scrap and cost reduction programs
  • Support the implementation, achievement, and maintenance of the Quality and Environmental Policies and Procedures
    • Training specific to some facilities and positions: Forklift Certification, LOTO
    • IJM: RJG Injection Mold Essential course (Site Specific TNMN)
  • Authorities for an employee are granted by means of work instructions, policies and procedures and/or direction provided by management to meet the requirements of the customer
Education:
  • High School Education or GED
Experience:
  • Production Processes -Injection Mold & Assembly (IJM/ASSY)
  • Strong Math aptitude
  • Knowledge of Windows operating system and with Microsoft Office Suite
Other:
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
  • Possess strong leadership skills
  • Sets the example in attendance, work safety, and housekeeping
Work Environment: This job operates in an manufacturing environment, and routinely uses standard office equipment. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud, but are compliant with OSHA standardsPhysical Demands: This job requires standing for long periods of time , reaching, talking handling objects with hands, walking stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting up to 40lbs : Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print or electronicallyThis job description should not be construed to imply that these requirements are exclusive standards of the position.
