Reports to: Supervisor and or ManagerOverview: Under the direction of the Supervisor or Manager, the group leader is a non-supervisory member of the work group. The GL/TL (group leader / team leader) is responsible for the work product of the team. They are responsible for ensuring adherence to safety, quality, quantity, housekeeping, and company policies, procedures and standards. Responsibilities:
- Assists Supervisor in their daily work activities
- Maintains accurate records and records necessary data
- Performs associate-level assignments and special assignments directed by the Supervisor or Manager
- Is knowledgeable of all positions in the work group
- Operates an environment within the department that is positive and encourages employee involvement
- Assists Supervisor in training and cross training of associates
- Identify and correct, incorrect processes through job observation and training of new associates.
- Communicates instructions and/or task assignments from Supervisor
- Fills vacant associate positions on the line due to personnel shortage
- Reviews documents such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing, to determine personnel or material requirements or material priorities
- Requisition and maintain inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands
- Meet with department supervisors or other personnel to assess completeness, accuracy and conformance to standards and specifications
- Must be flexible in shift assignments and ability to work overtime as required
- Suggests and supports affective scrap and cost reduction programs
- Support the implementation, achievement, and maintenance of the Quality and Environmental Policies and Procedures
- Training specific to some facilities and positions: Forklift Certification, LOTO
- IJM: RJG Injection Mold Essential course (Site Specific TNMN)
- Authorities for an employee are granted by means of work instructions, policies and procedures and/or direction provided by management to meet the requirements of the customer
Education:
- High School Education or GED
Experience:
- Production Processes -Injection Mold & Assembly (IJM/ASSY)
- Strong Math aptitude
- Knowledge of Windows operating system and with Microsoft Office Suite
Other:
- Ability to work well with others
- Strong Interpersonal skills
- Possess strong leadership skills
- Sets the example in attendance, work safety, and housekeeping
Work Environment: This job operates in an manufacturing environment, and routinely uses standard office equipment.
