ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs complex analysis, design, development, testing and debugging of computer software in support of distinct product hardware or technical devices
  • Designs, develops and modifies software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design
  • Designs or implements complex database or data repository interfaces/queries
  • Develops or implements algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards
  • Develops and executes test procedures for software components
  • Writes or reviews software and system documentation
  • Develops software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, conferring with users or systems engineers; analyzing systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigating problem areas
  • Activities range from operating systems architecture integration and software design to selection of computer systems, languages and/or equipment
  • May participate in the development of technical proposal submissions and white papers
  • May direct and supervise the activity of lower level software engineers to support a specific task/project
  • Provides consulting services to members of management, the professional staff, and the customer in the analysis and design of programming systems, problem-oriented languages, management systems, scientific systems, and related areas of computational projects
  • Develops the planning and monitoring of the design, implementation, and checkout of programming systems, and provides technical direction in solving complex problems
  • Modifies existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance
  • Performs technical tasks that frequently involve customer relations
  • Develops principles and procedures for accomplishing customer-programming studies, analyzing the objectives sought and the methods to be used
  • Ensures quality control of all developed and modified software
  • Recommends new technologies and processes for complex software projects
  • Develops analytical and computational techniques for solving problems
  • Develops the formulation and design of a project
  • Provides technical direction, guidance, and assistance to assigned projects
  • Gives advice regarding the programming and analytical phases of development and research problems
  • Develops mathematical models when required, conducting original research into modeling techniques when necessary
  • Serves as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any particular project

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of overall related experience
  • 5 years of experience (within the last 7 years) leading Agile DevSecOps engineering teams in a production environment developing systems orchestration and/or automation testing, utilizing industry standard CI/CD pipelines and modern coding languages/frameworks.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience (within the last 5 years) with APIs and designing solutions to leverage interfaces to build SDN automation and orchestration capabilities, or capabilities such as dashboarding or monitoring.
  • Active DOD Secret Clearance

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Current DevOps Engineer Certification.
  • 2 years of experience working within DoD network infrastructure.
  • 2 years of experience working with commercial internet services providers developing SDN orchestration playbooks.
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent BS degree with a focus in software development
