POSITION: CAREER-TECHNICAL EDUCATION LOGISTICS & SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT TEACHER

JOB GOAL: Plans and implements assigned instructional programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Acts according to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators.
* Embraces high-performance standards (e.g., engagement, proficiency, resilience, etc.)
* Holds/maintains required Ohio State Board of Education credentials.
* Maintains a record free of criminal violations that prohibit public school employment.
* Active listening, creative problem solving, and good time management skills.
* Sedentary strength (seldom lifting/carrying more than 11 lbs.).
* Duties require communicating verbally, far/near visual acuity, fine/gross manipulation, reaching at or below shoulder height, standing/walking, stooping, and using a traditional keyboard.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Maintains in-depth knowledge of subject matter and pedagogy. Implements best practices that support continuous improvement in student participation and achievement.
* Aligns teaching strategies with the learning styles of students. Implements evidence-based instructional strategies that produce quantifiable benefits within well-defined time frames.
* Coordinates off-site training activities (e.g., job coaching, worksite adaptations, etc.)
* Coordinates supplemental program activities (e.g., career/job fairs, career-technical student organizations, college credit programs, externship, internship, job shadowing, etc.)
* Develops lesson plans consistent with state learning standards and district curriculum goals.
* Encourages student participation. Monitors the accuracy of internal-external communications.
* Ensures student lists, lesson plans, and teaching materials are readily available for substitutes.
* Helps students acquire appropriate functional skills (e.g., communication, self-regulation, socialization, etc.)
* Helps students develop educational goals that are attainable, measurable, relevant, and specific.
* Keeps informed about workforce and employment trends shaping the future of work. Identifies prerequisite skills employers require. Determines curriculum fit and feasibility.
* Maintains effective document and records management systems. Prepares timely files. Monitors reporting deadlines. Complies with district records retention and disposal policies.
* Obtains work-based learning opportunities for students with local community employers.
* Participates in team meetings.
* Plans real-world learning experiences. Teaches students effective techniques to perform job tasks using specialized equipment and materials aligned with specific work-related standards.
* Proctors mandated testing activities. Upholds test security procedures.
* Provides job readiness training (e.g., communication skills, resume development, job search strategies, completing job applications, interviewing skills, positive work behaviors, etc.)
* Teaches assigned instructional program(s) in applied sciences, career preparation, modern technologies, or skilled trades (e.g., agriculture, auto mechanics, business, child development, computer science, consumer science, cosmetology, culinary arts, electronics, graphic design, healthcare, HVAC, office technology, etc.)
* Uses comprehensive assessments to obtain objective student data. Plans services relevant to needs. Supports student access to inclusive educational opportunities.
* Uses formative and summative assessments to track student progress. Provides timely feedback.
* Uses positive behavioral interventions and supports to maintain discipline.
* Consistently performs all aspects of the job. Diligently pursues high quality results.
