Job Description:The Madison Mallards and Night Mares are seeking an individual to assist in producing a 4-camera webcast for each of their home games that is streamed live on the Northwoods League+ and ESPN+. Please provide examples of video work or a link to your portfolio with your application.Responsibilities Include:
- Update rosters and stats graphics for use in game production
- Create commercial breaks for every game
- Option to produce pre and post-game shows for each broadcast
- Can serve as on-air talent if interested in advancing broadcasting skills
- Setup, breakdown, and maintaining of video production equipment
- Shoot, cut, edit, produce hype videos from game footage for social & other uses
- Work with Creative Media Manager/Marketing Director to produce relevant and interesting -content on a weekly basis
- Assist with motion graphic creation for in-stadium video board, including motion player cards using a green screen
- Working with the Marketing Director to create short videos that can be used online and on the video board to enhance the fan experience at the Duck Pond. Examples include, nightly video with our Chef, video spoofs, mascots doing crazy things, etc
- Plan, execute and upkeep consistent media day strategy for players as they join the team including, but not limited to:
- Player headshots
- Hype video b-roll
- Lineup card video/photos for social media and video board use
- Actively research/stay on top of internet trends relevant to our team/target audience
- Attend scheduled Sports Business classes, produced for the benefit of the Intern class.
- Participate in rotational laundry duties as assigned by the GM
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- Experience with video editing and software
- Previous experience directing a broadcast preferred but not required
- Proficient in video techniques, including camera positioning, lighting, etc.
- Must be a creative thinker with the ability to think of new, fun ideas to improve the fan experience through video
- A general understanding of baseball and/or softball is preferred
- Ability to problem solve on the fly
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be well organized and detail oriented
- A computer for webcast production that has necessary webcast and editing software will be provided
About the Madison Mallards & Madison Night Mares:The Mallards are one of the largest and most successful summer collegiate baseball teams in the nation attracting more than 200,000 fans each summer. The Night Mares debuted in 2024 as an inaugural Northwoods League Softball team. In just one year, they became the highest attended summer collegiate softball team and look to continue to grow in year two.
