Job Description
A Summer Associate in the Real Estate, Lodging & Leisure Investment Banking Group in the New York office will work on a variety of active engagements, business development assignments, and growth initiatives. The group offers a unique opportunity for Associates to work on a variety of projects that provide exposure to various financial advisory and investment banking products and sectors within the real estate industry. The Associate will have the following tasks:
* Prepare, analyze and help explain historical and projected financial information;
* Coordinate and perform business due diligence and execute M&A and capital raising transactions;
* Prepare confidential information memoranda, management presentations, marketing pitches and other presentations;
* Value real estate companies, businesses, and assets;
* Assist in the marketing and planning of engagements; and
* Build relationships and maintain direct contact with clients, prospective clients and professional advisors.
Basic Qualifications
The ideal candidate would possess the following qualities and background:
* An undergraduate degree, including an exemplary academic record, from an accredited institution;
* An MBA degree from a top accredited institution with a graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026;
* Candidates should have experience executing transactions and interpreting / structuring legal agreements;
* Advanced accounting, finance, financial modeling and analytical abilities;
* Nuanced understanding of real estate valuation theory, methodologies and applications;
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience interacting with clients and/or potential investors;
* Be an independent thinker and resourceful problem solver driven to succeed;
* Have a very strong work ethic, organizational skills and ability to multitask; and
* A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff.

Salary Range
Houlihan Lokey is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive total compensation package, which may include other components such as discretionary incentive compensation. The firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible salary range for this role at the time of posting is:
$175,000.00-$225,000.00
Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant qualifications, skills, and experience and the location where this position may be filled.
