Job Goal: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students in with academics and organization. Tutor will push in to classrooms, work with students in the Restorative Room (RISP), or meet with students outside the classroom. Tutors will help students complete outstanding or current assignments, and develop increased self-efficacy. Qualifications and Skills Preferred:
- Ability to tutor in a variety of subjects, including math, science, history, and english
- Experience working with high school students
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with school staff and students
- Ability to build relationships with all types of learners
- Flexible and able to switch gears quickly
- Bilingual preferred (Spanish and Portuguese ideal)
- Familiarity with Aspen (school information system) and SHS community ideal
Responsibilities:
- work with students one-on-one or in small groups to complete current or outstanding assignments
- help motivate students to engage with school work
- support students in developing organizational skills
- support students in communicating with teachers and other staff
Terms of Employment:
- Yearly Appointment
- Scheduled School Year (September 2024 - June 2025)
- 10-19 hours per week (Hours to be scheduled with the principal or assistant principal)
- Monday - Friday, 7:45 am - 2:45 pm
