24-25 FT Utility Worker - Food Service - SOMERVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS : Job Details

Job Goal: The Somerville Public Schools is now accepting applications for the position of Utility Worker for the Food and Nutrition Services Department.Qualifications:* Must have a valid Massachusetts driver's license with a driving record in good standing.* Must be nationally certified in applied food service sanitation- may be acquired in on the* job training programs with in the first 10 months of employment.* Ability to read, write and speak English.* Ability to pick up and lift/carry 60 pounds in weight.* Ability to successfully pass a physical exam by a physician chosen by the Food and* Nutrition Services Department.Responsibilities:* Receives and checks deliveries.* Stores food and supplies in department refrigerators and storage areas.* Maintains, rotates and records inventory.* Operate Food and Nutrition Services Department vehicles.* Operate all kitchen production, packaging and cleaning equipment.* Perform required cleaning tasks.* Perform simple facility maintenance tasks.* Prepares food for service.* Services all Food Service students and customers as needed.* Possesses good customer service and communication skills.* Performs all other related tasks as necessary for the operation of a Food Service Facility.Terms of Employment:* Full Time* School Year Schedule* Union Position / Benefits Eligible* Compensation: $26.01 per hourPosition Reports to: Assistant Director of Food and Nutrition ServicesThe Somerville Public Schools does not discriminate in its programs, facilities, or employment or educational opportunities on the basis of race, color, age, religion, disability, pregnancy, home status, marital/civil union status, sex/gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, citizenship status, place of birth, national origin, ancestry, cultural identity, genetics or military status, and does not tolerate any form of retaliation, or bias-based intimidation, threat or harassment that demeans individuals' dignity or interferes with their ability to learn or work.
