Inspects and tests of machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. Set-up, operate and repair of oil field machines and equipment and adjusts controls that regulate operational functions to ensure conformance to specifications. Records and maintains production, repair, and machine maintenance information. Communicates with or assists other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment. Reads work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance. Inspects or tests damaged oil field equipment and machine parts, and marks defective areas and/or advises supervisor of need for repair. Instrumental in training Maintenance I Field workers for advancement. Installs equipment, pipelines and facilities, as assigned. Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).
