Position Overview

The individual in this role will perform the basic tasks required to operate the Systems used in the Hastings Insurance IT environment on 2nd shift. This role will monitor Mainframe jobs and Control M batch cycling jobs and triage any reports on non-prod and Production cycles via SBM.

Technical Systems this role will use include:

* Mainframe

* TSO

* Hewlett-Packard Servers

* Control-M Job Scheduling Software

* SBM Ticketing system

* Octopus Deployment Software

Position Location & Work Format

This role operates Monday-Friday 2nd shift (3:30pm - 12:00pm). The Operator is responsible for one Saturday (remote work) every two months. Month end cycles are rotated between Operators as well. Basic training will begin in house on first shift, then move to 2nd shift with some light training in house but will end up as mainly remote work. There would be very minimal onsite work, but could occur on occasion.

Position Duties & Responsibilities

* Monitors mainframe operations, creating and logging incidents to critical issues and triaging any tickets through SBM. JCL Review and edits along with Bim Edit administration work.

* Administration work of Mobius View, archiving and maintaining report depository.

* Utilizes Control-M to monitor the daily, weekly, monthly batch cycles in Non-Prod and Production environments and addressing any failed alerts, by recovering, triaging or restarting jobs.

* Effectively coordinates and collaborates across IT teams to review and analyze our environment task and underlying issues.

* Schedules deployments in Octopus.

* Ensures that incident management tickets and Service request are handled appropriately and in a timely manner.

* On rare occasion may need to perform System Printer(s) Operational activities as a backup which requires managing large commercial printers and loading forms, pushing output and delivering to appropriate areas. This is an onsite process.

* Maintains department documentation on procedures.

* Actively participates in professional development, i.e. continuing education or self-improvement.

* Other duties as assigned by leadership, either verbally or in writing.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

* High School Diploma or equivalent is required. College work or degree a plus.

* Technical Certifications such as A+ or similar are desired.

* Experience with Control-M Job Scheduling Software highly desired.

* Demonstrated problem-solving ability required.

* Knowledge of basic PC and Microsoft office products.

* Experience working within IT operations setting is helpful.

* Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

* Ability to type efficiently, both regular keyboard and 10-Key.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

* Punctuality and dependability are required, given the nature of a support-level role.

* Ability to work any shift as needed and assigned.
