SUMMARYSupervises preventive, routine, and unscheduled maintenance of the plant operations area and equipment, including all production machinery (packaging, capsule manufacturing, and processing), the warehouse and order fulfillment areas, the process HVAC system, and plant janitorial on the shift. Maintains files and records of preventive and routine maintenance schedules, work completed, equipment manuals, warranties, etc. Ensures compliance with all codes, ordinances, OSHA regulations, and safety rules for work performed by maintenance staff or subcontractors.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supervises the maintenance and repair of all operations and production equipment including all packaging machinery, capsule manufacturing, processing equipment, warehouse and order fulfillment equipment (including conveyors, lift trucks, and other material handling equipment), process HVAC systems, and other ancillary systems (including compressed air and dust collection units). Develops and evaluates bids for work by maintenance subcontractors and submits to manager for approval. May also be required to directly maintain and repair any of the listed equipment, depending on the needs of the department.
- Tracks, updates, and helps to schedule all preventive maintenance activities at the headquarters plant, as well as throughout the Company's retail stores.
- Supervises the maintenance and repair of the physical plant operations area and supervises plant janitorial and sanitation work including cleaning and replenishment of plant lavatory supplies.
- Works with Engineering on new and used equipment installation and rebuild projects. Performs other project work on an as-required basis.
- Checks plant premises for possible pest entry or presence and arranges suitable countermeasures. Works with the Maintenance Manager to schedule and arrange spraying for infestation control throughout manufacturing and warehousing areas.
- Assists in the planning, development, and implementation of new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of machinery, labor, and materials.
- Monitors and updates the shop supply inventory and the equipment parts inventory.
- Assists in the procurement and liquidation of operations and production equipment, as well as equipment, furnishings, and fixtures at the retail stores.
- Works with engineering on new construction or remodeling projects in the plant on an as-required basis. Develops and evaluates bids from subcontractors including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc. and submits proposals to the Maintenance and Engineering Manager for approval.
- Assists in supervising the maintenance, repair and construction work in all retail stores. Develops and evaluates bids from subcontractors and submits to the Maintenance Manager and Engineering Manager for approval. Acts as general contractor in coordinating and supervising work of subcontractors in store construction or repair projects. Provides assurance that work is completed on a timely basis and according to plans and specifications.
- Reports on potential problems and progress on current projects in a timely manner.
- Complies with safety and GMP requirements.

Completes incident investigation reports and submits them to manager by end of shift on which the incident is reported. Conducts safety contacts and documents corrective and preventative actions. Enforces company policies, procedures, SOP's, SPP's and safe work practices.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESDirectly supervises shift employees in the maintenance department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. - Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) and three to five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination.
- Course work or equivalent experience with basic concepts of engineering and physical science required.
