Title: 2nd Shift Supervisor * *Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to employees.*
* *Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.*
* *Manager projects to improve processes throughout the department for the purpose of improving production and quality levels. Identify issues in efficiency, suggest and execute improvements.*
* *Responsible for all aspects of Performance Management to include disciplining employees for violations to any company and or department policy.*
* *Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing work and vacation schedules.*
* *Check production output according to specifications to ensure that set goals will be met. If not, necessary adjustments will need to be made.*
* *Submit reports on performance and progress.*
* *Control labor and material cost.*
* *Build a cohesive team, lead by example and manage directly through multiple supervisors and/or leads.*
* *Ensure the safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance.*
* *Work flexible hours including weekends as needed, in order to meet la and department objectives.*
* *Perform other duties as assigned.*
* *Provide employees with clear performance objectives tied to lab performance for quality, productivity, service and growth.*
* *Communicate safety, production, quality, cost and schedule on a weekly basis (weekly meeting with Supervisors).Communicate openly and consistently with Production Manager regarding status of department.*
* *Communicate and be able to use progressive discipline and coaching to any employees not conforming to performance, job requirements, department rules and behavior related issues.*
* *Provide Group Leaders with individual performance scores on a weekly basis.*
* *Work closely with group leads to ensure proper cross-training is provided to employees on all processes and equipment.*
* *Follow up and communicate performance levels routinely to each Group Leaders. Coach Group Leaders on methods and techniques for improving performance.*
* *Provide regular and timely recognition to employees for above and beyond behaviors that align with Essilors Mission and Values.*
* *Bachelors degree in business management or related field with proven on the job management experience working in a production environment preferred.*
* *Three (3) to five (5) years optical lab experience is preferred, especially experience with digital surfacing technology.*
* *Three (3) to five (5) years management experience in a fast paced production environment with proven track record of success.*
* *Demonstrated competence in supervisor skills: motivating employees to meet performance goals, strong communication skills, comfortable with coaching and training individuals and teams.*
* *Previous experience implementing Lean and Six Sigma process improvements preferred.*
* *Computer skills including proficiency in MS Office applications.*
* *Previous experience working with statistical analysis tools to gather and report data preferred.*
