AGW is expanding and has added a second shift. We are looking for a couple more associates to add to the team. This schedule will consist of four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday - 4pm to 2:30am.

We are a contract precision maintenance jobshop that services and repairs both large and small process critical gearboxes for a variety of industries. Since 1988 Atlanta Gear Works has been a leader in gearing, gearbox repair, field machining and inspections all over the US. We are looking for great people who want to learn a new skill. CAPABILITIES AND SUCCESS FACTORS:

  • Ability to work in a safe manner and follow safety rules at all times.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and can use all tools in a safe manner. If you have the basic skill to work on mechanical equipment, we can teach you our trade.
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions and interpret quality requirements.
  • Quality conscious with the ability to meet productivity goals.
  • Ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area daily.
  • Work well with fellow employees and customers.
  • Must be a self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate with other employees and management in a respectful, positive manner.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required. Technical School training is a plus.
  • This is an entry level position.
  • Experience with correctly using high precision measuring instruments (such as veneer, micrometers OD & ID, depth gauge, etc.) in measurements of a thousandth is a huge plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to lift small, medium and large objects, up to 50 lbs. regularly. Stamina to work 40+ hours each week.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The Warehouse Associate will be exposed to mostly low noise, however, sometimes moderate to high noise levels within the production environment. Occasionally on-site at a customer facility. Possibility for extreme heat, wet, dry, humid conditions.
