( POSITION HAS FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES****POSITION SUMMARY**The Mold Tech will report to the Shift Supervisor any special instructions to ensure production is operating and quality standards are being maintained. The Mold Tech will lead by exampole and will perform supervisory tasks such as designating Packer/Handlers and other team members to proper locations to meet production schedules. In performing these respoonsibilities, associates are to work safely, efficiently, and cooperatively in a manner that demonstrates team member involvement. The Mold Tech works with the Shift Supervisor to operate, troubleshoot, document, and communicate on all equipment that is not performing within specifications.**KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES**1. Set up machines for operation, change material and color to meet production schedules2. Must have a technical understanding of process and raw materials used3. Keep supervisor/management informed of all problems4. Start up machines and monitor quality at start up5. Make appropriate adjustments to machine to maintain efficient production levels and document appropriately6. Respond to QA Techs by adjusting machines to maintain appropriate sizes and standards7. Oversee proper packaging procedures8. Review production schedules and ensure machines are running production to meet customer demands9. Respond to alarms and/or requests for assistance to correct machine malfunctions and/or Packer/Handler problems10. Use proper Lockout/Tagout procedures11. Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Maintenance Departments concerning machine operations and malfunctions12. Inspect scrap to prevent any usable product from being ground and record scrap numbers13. Be able to do the packer/handler job to assist with relief of breaks14. Assist with material handling15. Keep the floor stocked with matrials required for production (fitments/handles/labels/tape, etc...)16. Maintain a safe working enviroment17. Will need to cover for the supervisor in his absence2. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints by taking to supervisor to resolve problems**Qualifications****REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES**1. Extensive knowledge of injection molding machinery and processes to include mold set-ups, trouble shooting and exposure to maintenance problems2. Maintain efficient production levels in a fast-paced enviroment3. Must be able to identify alpha/numeric product codes4. Knowledge of mechanical inspection techniques and practices**PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES**1. Read and comprehend complex, detailed instructions and correspondence2. Write simple correspondence3. Apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions4. Deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations5.
