What you will doHe/she will be responsible for the local delivery and execution of core welding to vendors and managers in accordance with Johnson Controls principles, corporate policies and procedures, and plant operations. You will perform a variety of employment related functions for the ultimate purpose of enhancing employee engagement, safety and health, productivity and ensuring employee compliance with Company policies in a manufacturing facility.How you will do itThe Welder II and III will have a minimum of 3 years of MIG/TIG welding experience.Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.Operate Miller Aluma Pro Mig gunOperate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as GMAW, TIG, Plasma Cutter.Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.Maintain safe work practices.Conduct Technical Inspections.Prepare input for various management and log reports.Review blueprints and specifications; ensure drawings and specifications will function as designed in environment intended for use.Develop goals and priorities; assign tasks and projects.Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.Keep detailed and accurate reports and documentation.Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance, and repair techniques.Other assigned work as requiredWhat we look forThe use of various hand tools, machinery and equipment will be required to manufacture metalStandard blueprint knowledgeThis position will work with Supervisors and Lead Hands to ensure continuous improvements in work cells, hitting quotas, welding according to pre-set parameters using GMAW and TIG welding processes.The ability to scan in and out of work orders is a must.The Welder will be required to have strong knowledge and skill in operating all metalworking machinery.Additionally, the Welder will be required to read and understand production drawings, blueprints, work orders and other written instructions.RequiredAlloy and Steel Welding ExperienceFollow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)Follow All Safety Policies and ProtocolsQuality OrientationTime ManagementCreative and Innovative ThinkingDevelopment and Continual LearningProblem SolvingAccountability and DependabilityResearch and AnalysisDecision Making and JudgementOperating EquipmentEthics and IntegrityPlanning and OrganizingMathematical ReasoningCommunicationTeamworkPreferredHigh School Diploma, GED or certificationsGMAW experience.Tig welding experience.Aluminum & steel experience.(3+) years experience as a Welder.Use of cutting tools (plasma experience preferred)Oxy acetylene cutting experienceGeneral use of hand and power toolsExperience with all safe practices, procedures, and overall processes.Ability to work independently in busy environment.Experience with routine maintenance operations.Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in diverse working environments.Able to work well under pressure.Strong attention to detail.Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always.Johnson Controls International plc. is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, protected veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a qualified individual with a disability or any other characteristic protected by law.
