5 Axis Laser Operator - Trumpf - IFab Corporation : Job Details

Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Laser Operator to join our production team. The Laser Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating laser cutting machines to cut, shape, and fabricate materials according to precise specifications.The ideal candidate must have a strong technical background in operating TRUMPF laser machines and should be familiar with various materials commonly used in the industry. Detail oriented, highly accurate, and the ability to communicate with coworkers, management, and multitask and meet deadlines are essential.Interested candidates will have experience operating a Trumpf laser, along with other power and hand tools, can accurately and precisely read a tape measure, and can read and understand blueprints.The laser operator will primarily operate our laser to cut metal sheets, steel, aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized into various parts. Key Responsibilities:Machine Setup and Calibration: Prepare the laser cutting machine for production by loading materials, setting up appropriate cutting parameters, and ensuring the accuracy of the machine's calibration. Ensure production schedule follow-through as allocated by Pre-Fabrication Manager and/or Engineering Manager Perform daily machine startup and shutdown procedures. Stage raw materials at work center for day's production. Load and unload machine with correct sheet sizes and label parts with correct part numbers Perform operator-level maintenance and cleaning of cutting equipment and work area in accordance with company standards and manufacture's machine recommendations.Material Inspection: Examine raw materials for any defects or imperfections, ensuring they meet quality standards before initiating the cutting process. Check parts to ensure they are within tolerance of company standards Report all equipment deficiencies to supervisor.Laser Cutting Operations: Operate the laser cutting machine to precisely cut and shape materials based on engineering drawings, blueprints, or job orders. Load and unload machine with correct sheet sizes and label parts with correct part numbersQuality Control: Regularly inspect finished pieces to verify that they adhere to the required specifications, taking prompt action in case of any deviations.Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on the laser cutting equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn-out components to ensure optimal performance.Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while operating the laser machine and promote a safe working environment for all team members.Production Efficiency: Monitor the production process, identify opportunities for process improvement, and suggest modifications to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of production activities, including material usage, machine settings, and output quantities.Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members, such as engineers, supervisors, and quality control personnel, to achieve production goals and resolve any technical issues.Training and Development: Stay updated with the latest laser cutting technologies and techniques and participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.Preferred qualifications: Candidate must have some or all of the following Educational/Technical requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certifications in machining is a plus.Proven experience as a Trumpf Laser OperatorProficient in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.Strong understanding of various materials
