Job Title: Mechanical Engineer / Industrial Engineer - 6-Month Consultant

About Us:

Williams Valve is a leading manufacturer of high-quality industrial valves serving energy, safety, and modern infrastructure needs. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer or Industrial Engineer for a 6-month consultant position at our Long Island City, Queens location. This role requires strong leadership and hands-on involvement in a production environment, working closely with machinists and production staff to optimize processes and engineering designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and collaborate with machinists and production staff to gather feedback and improve engineering drawings and processes
  • Reverify and refine technical drawings for production use
  • Perform reverse engineering tasks, particularly in relation to fixture drawings
  • Utilize SolidWorks (minimum 3 years of experience required), providing evidence of test/sample models during the interview process
  • Apply expertise in CNC programming and knowledge of Mastercam to streamline production operations
  • Work within ISO and API standards, particularly welding procedures, to ensure compliance and quality
  • Assist in drafting and revising technical procedures based on production needs and feedback

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience leading and working in a production environment (priority skill)
  • SolidWorks proficiency with at least 3 years of hands-on experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate with machinists and production staff to improve processes
  • Familiarity with CNC programming and production workflow improvements
  • Experience with reverse engineering and fixture drawings
  • Working knowledge of Mastercam, G-Code, and welding procedures
  • Familiarity with ISO and API standards, particularly in relation to welding
  • Prior experience drafting and editing production procedures

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $10,000 per month for the duration of the 6-month contract (Total compensation: $60,000)
  • Relocation assistance or corporate housing is available for candidates outside the local commuting area
  • Immediate start required
