7MPR Themed Dance Theater 2025 - The First Midnight Performance, January 19, 2025 (Deadline: 12/7/2024) Company: 7Midnights Physical Research LLC Location: New York, NY Compensation: $20 for each choreographic work 7MPR Theme Dance Theater - Midnights Performance Series 2025 7Midnights Physical Research is dedicated to the exploration of 7 social issues: Class, Education, Ability, Sexuality, Race, Age, and Gender. These themes constitute the concept of 7MPRs main program, Themed Dance Theater-Midnights Performance Series. Seven performances will take place throughout the year leading up to the 7th Midnight, with each performance covering two or more of these social issues through dance. Each choreographers work presented will express one or more topical themes aligned with these social issues. Midnight is a special time for self-identification and strong inner perception. At 7MPR, we share, support, and advocate for justice and rights. This First Midnight Performance will kick off the new year of 2025, marking a new era for NYC artists and the Saint Marks Place Artists Community. After a long journey of challenges and explorations, 7MPR has successfully developed into an LLC for performing arts and NYC artists. 2025 is a brand-new year to start Season 4 with new 7 Midnights at our Themed Dance Theater. Logistics of 7MPR Themed Dance Theater - Midnights Performance Series Each work must be no longer than 12 minutes. 8-10 works will be selected for each Midnight. Tech/Dress rehearsal will be scheduled before the performance week, with each work allowed 20 minutes within a four (or five) hour block. Due to the nature of the space, lighting will be low-key, but simple requests can be accommodated. Choreographers are welcome to bring their own lighting design for their pieces. There may be a Discussion Party following some shows, lasting no longer than 30 minutes. The First Midnight Performance will take place on January 19th, 2025. Application deadline will be 12/7/2024 . Each performance will last for an hour and 30 minutes (8-9:30 PM), though the schedule may change. Our performance venue will be at Arts On Site, Studio 3F. How to Apply & Application Fee Applicants will receive an Application Form after contacting us via email at info7mpr.com. All choreographers will be asked to fill out basic information about their proposed works and provide a link to a work sample video, which can be a completed work or a work-in-progress. Selected works will be announced individually to the artists. Each applicant must submit a $20 application fee, which is required and non-refundable. The application fee can be sent to 7MPR via Venmo: ThemedDanceTheater-7MPR or PayPal: PayPal.Me/7mpr. Additionally, there will be a donation-based service fee for photos and video footage, with a suggested donation of $15-30 for those wishing to receive their dance photos and videos.
