Job Description :
The Accountant/Associate is responsible for analyzing complex financial records, overseeing multiple clients accounting operations, regulating and authenticating financial transactions, maintaining a ledger, and balancing accounts. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with both small and large size businesses and will be highly skilled in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and QuickBooks and will have thorough knowledge of accounting procedures, including preparing month-end reports. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business or at least five years of experience in public accounting is required.Accountant/Associate Responsibilities and Qualifications:
  • Create and analyze balance sheet accounts by compiling electronic data and required documentation.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local protocols including legal requirements, and interpret new and existing legislation.
  • Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
  • Involvement in business registration, tax compliance, and reporting tax datasheets.
  • Five years of experience working with intercompany transactions and reconciliation in preparation of financial statements.
  • Summarize and prepare financial status and transactions reports, including a profit and loss statement, and other necessary reports.
  • Perform payroll functions, submit payroll taxes, and maintain knowledge of payroll laws & regulations.
  • Conduct reconciliation of all accounts as needed.
  • Maintain and balance the general ledger.
  • Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments.
  • Perform account receivable functions including invoicing, deposits, collections, and revenue recognition.
  • Stay well informed of state sales tax laws and how to prepare returns.
  • Working knowledge of tax compliance as it pertains to state and federal level regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a leadership role.
Accountant/Associate Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or at least five years of public accounting experience required.
  • At least five years of experience working with bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, journal entry adjustments, financial statements preparation, and general ledgers.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of GAAP tax and cash financial statements.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook, Word, QuickBooks Desktop and Online, and other applications related to finance and accounting.
  • Must possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Able to work in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
