HTI has an immediate opening for an experienced Accountant with a start-up manufacturing plant in Waynesboro, GA (just south of Augusta, GA). This is a direct-hire, full-time, salaried position with a large international manufacturing company headquartered in Europe. The role will be onsite for approximately the first 6 months, but there is potential for the position to become hybrid after that timeframe. The company offers growth opportunity and comprehensive benefits, including a 5% 401K match and 3 weeks of vacation. Working hours are flexible and can start between 7am-8:30am and end between 4pm-5:30pm, depending on your preference. Salary will depend on experience, and the range is $65,000 - $78,000 / year.Position Summary:The Accountant will manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits. Responsibilities include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments with the support of a fiscal consultant. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with accounting and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes. Ultimately, this person will provide accurate quantitative information on financial position and liquidity, while ensuring the company is compliant with all tax regulations.Responsibilities:
  • Manage all accounting transactions.
  • Publish financial statements on time.
  • Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
  • Process and reconcile Accounts Payable and Receivable.
  • Reconcile the company's bank statements and general ledgers.
  • Ensure timely bank payments.
  • Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
  • Filing and remitting taxes and other financial obligations with the support of a fiscal consultant.
  • Compile reports on the company's financial health and liquidity.
  • Comply with financial policies and regulations.
  • This person will have the opportunity to travel to Europe for training with the company's Global CFO (one to two-week trip, most likely within the two months of employment).
Requirements:
  • 2 or 4-year degree in Accounting strongly preferred.
  • Must have 3+ years of experience as an Accountant handling the above listed job duties.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Excel spreadsheets (formulas, pivot tables, V-lookups preferred).
  • Experience with general ledger functions.
  • Payroll/ADP experience is a plus.
  • Experience with an ERP system is preferred.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working for an international and/or start-up company is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong analytical skills.
