The Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for timely and accurate reporting of requested financial information or projects, utilizing analytical,

statistical, economic, and financial principles and techniques. Assists in month-end close/post-close processes including multiple journal entry

preparation and posting. Responsible for the accuracy of the Fixed Asset System. Prepares multiple financial reports/spreadsheets daily, weekly,

monthly, and annually for review by hospital management, corporate personnel, and/or external entities as requested. Responsible for timely and

accurate reconciliation of various hospital balance sheet accounts. Assists in compliance with SOX and all internal controls in compliance with the

Medical Center's policies and procedures and government regulations. Assists in the preparation of annual budget, cost report working papers, and

internal/external audits for Medical Center and related entities.

Qualifications

Position Requirement

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with a major in Accounting required. Experience may be accepted in place of a degree

Experience: Previous experience with computer mainframes and personal computers is preferred. Experience directly related to the healthcare field is preferred.

Qualifications and Skills: Requires technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as, the ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of management and outside auditors and agencies. Work involves a high degree of resourcefulness, independent judgment, initiative, and organization.
