Accountant - BorgWarner : Job Details

Recognizing that the demand for electric and hybrid propulsion systems is growing rapidly and goes beyond mainstream passenger and commercial vehicles, BorgWarner acquired two Oregon-based businesses in early 2019. BorgWarner formed Cascadia Motion LLC to buy assets and merge the operations of the companies Rinehart Motion Systems LLC and AM Racing Inc. Cascadia Motion retains an entrepreneurial culture and explores the wide variety of electric and hybrid propulsion solutions for niche and emerging applications.

Position Summary

General responsibilities include support in the following areas: month end close/journal entries, Fixed Assets / CapEx, Credit Card Admin, Inter-Company activity, inventory/consignment accounting, and customer credit. Other ad-hoc projects as required. This position reports to the site Finance Manager.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Standard Duties:

Create and enter journal entries for month-end close

Reconcile fixed assets and book depreciation, forecast CapEx

Collect and reconcile Inter-Company activity

Manage Accounts Receivable

Reconcile balance sheet accounts

Perform analysis and reconciliations for accounts as required

Monitor and analyze results for accuracy; communicate variances that pose risk to plan to Finance Manager

Assist with inventory, fixed asset counts

Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelors or Associates degree in Accounting required

Understanding of GAAP

1 - 3 years minimum experience in finance or accounting role preferred

MRP/ERP experience preferred

OneStream, HFM experience preferred

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work extended hours when necessary; during month-end, quarter-end and budget/LRP time

Other activities - assists with various ad hoc project work, reporting and other tasks as necessary

Decision-making skills (e.g., problem definition, data analysis, hypothesis testing, asking for input)

Facilitates cross-functional communication across departments to optimize collaborative effort

Ability to work independently to complete time sensitive projects with internal and external deadlines

Ability to work both independently and cross-functionally.

Strong Microsoft Office Suite use including advanced Excel formula knowledge
