We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our team. As an Accountant at CAPSLO, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial management and reporting, supporting our mission of community empowerment.
We would love to hear from someone who:
* Accountant II:
* Has a Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field.
* Has a minimum of five years of experience in accounting or a related field.
* Has experience with accounts payable, receivables, financial statement analysis, and bank reconciliations.
As an Accountant You Will:
* Maintain a schedule of all grantor reports and their respective due dates.
* Code cash receipts to appropriate revenue accounts and approves expenditure vouchers daily for assigned contracts.
* Answer questions, gather data, and prepare schedules for audits
* Perform work in accordance with G.A.A.P.
* Understand, uphold, and continue working toward accomplishing the mission, strategic goals and performance measures of the agency.
* Use reasonable precautions in the performance of one's duties and adhere to all applicable safety rules and practices; and act in such a manner as to assure at all times maximum safety to one's self, fellow employees, clients and children.
* Perform other accounting related duties as assigned.
* Accountant II will not only have a larger workload than Accountant I, including multiple contracts and projects, but will also be expected to provide more detailed fiscal analysis, forecasting, mentoring of less experienced staff and provide fiscal trainings for program staff as needed.
* Reconciles the general ledger cash accounts to the bank statement in a timely manner. Includes accounting for void and outstanding checks, bank charges and account transfers.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
* Must be able to relate well to all people of the community regardless of color, national origin, religion, sex, pregnancy, age, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, disability or socio-economic level.
* Must be at least 18 years of age by date of hire.
* Must comply with the CAPSLO COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, either being fully vaccinated or sign a COVID-19 vaccination declination form.
* Based on the program, a current TB skin test/Chest X-Ray may be required.
* Employment is contingent upon meeting all applicable job requirements and background requirements. A criminal history clearance is required prior to employment.
* Upon hire, agency staff will check the Megan's Law (or the current sexual predator website) to ensure each staff being hired is clear for employment. Agency staff will check the website annually to ensure all program staff are cleared to work.
