Under general direction, the duties require the use of independent judgment in following prescribed procedures in performing financial account keeping functions.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLSStrong Excel experienceData ManipulationKnowledge/Experience with Budget, Debits & Credits - modern methods used in keeping and checking financial records and reports.Thorough knowledge of office terminology, procedures, equipment, business arithmetic and English.Ability to solve account-keeping problems.Ability to make arithmetic computations rapidly and accurately.Ability to prepare correspondence and reports.Ability to perform detailed work rapidly and accurately.DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLSExpert Excel, MacrosAccounting experience in the Education SectorFinancial AnalysisTYPICAL DUTIESPerforms professional accounting functions as directed.Assists in the preparation of financial reports.Assists in the preparation of budgets.MINIMUM QUAILIFICATIONSEducation, Training and Experience:Minimum 2 years of relevant experience including maintenance of financial accountsProfessional accounting experience may be substituted for college education on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of four years.PREFERREDBachelor's degree from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with, either:Major course work in accounting or completion of at least 24 credits in accounting.
