Job DescriptionSavannah River National Laboratory is seeking an Accounting Analyst to join our team! This individual will be responsible for providing integrated support to the Accounts Payable function and its interfaces with Procurement and other Accounting functions. They will serve as the subject matter expert for payables processing, invoice audit, and reimbursement of staff related to unique business expenses (business meals, conferences, memberships, etc.).Responsibilities
- Advise vendors on SRNL policies and procedures relating to general payables requirements and tax reporting.
- Ensure company information on vendor invoices accurately matches vendor master record.
- Audit vendor invoices to ensure mathematical accuracy and compliance with contract terms and conditions and delivery schedules.
- Utilize and maintain tools such as contract/invoice checklists and invoice tracking/time stamp methods to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with internal controls and ensure efficient processing of invoices.
- Respond to inquiries from vendors, SRNL technical staff, and other financial personnel regarding status of payments and invoices and resolve vendor issues.
- Prepare general ledger reconciliations and account audit functions as necessary.
- Prepare any fiscal or calendar year-end requirements related to AP tax reporting and DOE erroneous payment reporting.
- Audit SRNL controlled business expenses (business meals, conferences, memberships, etc.) to determine compliance with business rules and allowability of costs against the government contract.
- Process controlled business expense documents to reflect cost accordingly in the SRNL accounting system.
- Assist Procurement with contract closeouts through preparation of payment records.
- Prepare necessary monthly and quarterly status reports, as well as reconciliations and audit functions, as applicable.
- Prepare and assist with year-end requirements related to Accounts Payable as assigned.
- Identify process risk areas and internal control needs for processes.
- Identify and conduct processes to continuously improve financial procedures, analysis, and reporting systems.
- Participate in and complete special projects and/or other duties as assigned.

- Communicate effectively (both oral and written) with Accounting team members, internal company customer organizations, and external customers to resolve issues in general finance areas.
- Exhibit good oral and written communication skills to effectively and accurately present information and express ideas.
- Display interpersonal skills to maintain positive working relationships through cooperation and open communication.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 4 - 5 years' experience with federal and/or commercial contracts, procurement, or payables management.
- For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required
- Requires proficiency in applying accounting principles, policies, procedures, and knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- A basic knowledge and understanding of personal computers utilizing any of several generally accepted software applications to perform word processing, database management, spreadsheet, and graphic functions.

- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA certification
