Seeking a dedicated Accounting Analyst/Staff Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will support multiple clients across Finance, Accounting, and Contracts functions, managing accounting tasks like reconciliations and tax compliance, supporting program control and contract activities, and ensuring compliance with contractual and accounting standards. The ideal candidate is looking for long-term growth, enjoys working independently, and has a background in corporate finance, particularly in the Government Contracting industry with basic contract knowledge. This is a remote role, with availability required during business hours.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with reviewing and posting general ledger entries, accruals, and month-end closing activities across all accounting and finance functions.
- Support and perform reconciliations, including banking, credit card, and balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Assist with corporate income tax accounts and payroll tax account portals.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and reports.
- Perform project control activities, including monitoring funding levels and providing updates to the project team on financial status and funding needs.
- Utilize data visualization tools to present findings clearly and effectively.
- Support optimization of accounting system setup and configuration.
- Assist in financial audits and compliance activities.
- Other accounting and finance related support as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience and familiarity with Government Contracting accounting
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent customer service, including written and verbal communication
- Familiarity with Unanet and Online ERP systems
- Proficient in Excel, MS Teams, and all other MS Office 365 applications
- Required to pass a pre-employment background check to include criminal history and consumer credit reports
Experience:
- Finance & Accounting: 3 years (Required)
- Government Contract: 1 year (Required)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge or experience of DCAA requirements
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting financial data
