Job Purpose:
The Accounting Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations, particularly focusing on assisting with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) functions. This position is integral to ensuring efficient and accurate financial operations, contributing to the overall health and effectiveness of our finance department. This position may be converted to permanent full-time status if necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in processing invoices, verifying their accuracy, coding, and posting them into the accounting system.
- Schedule vendor payments, maximize early payment discounts, and ensure timely payment.
- Reconcile A/P and A/R accounts and prepare and issue monthly statements.
- Collect, verify, and process check and cash payments, and prepare daily bank deposits.
- Process and reconcile employee expense reports, issuing reimbursements as needed.
- Maintain accurate financial records and assist in month-end closing activities.
- Provide support in preparing financial reports and handling audit inquiries.
- Perform other related duties and tasks as required in the accounts payable and receivable areas.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- An understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.

Compensation details: 18.5-18.5 Hourly Wage
