Job Title: Accounting Clerk Location: Marquette, MI Pay: $20.00 to $22.00 per Hour What's the Job? - Analyze the cost of production in a manufacturing environment as well as ensuring profitability, supporting strategic decision-making, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. - Conduct monthly financial close activities, including inventory valuation, standard cost variance analysis, operations productivity, account reconciliations and other reporting as necessary. Prepare reports and summaries as required for inclusion of financial reporting. Prepare standard adjusting journal entries related to operational cost accounting - Review reports and research purchases to ensure accurate reporting. Establish labor and overhead rates. Support external audits and tax preparation functions. - Contribute pertinent cost analysis associate with the annual budgeting process. Prepare accurate cost estimates for new and/or existing products on request Partner with operational management to improve controls, accuracy and quality of manufacturing costs and resolve extraordinary variances. - Record fixed asset acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and other asset adjustments in the accounting system, ensuring timely and accurate asset tracking and capitalization. Works with finance staff to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger. Works with various functional departments to develop and maintain the product costing system. Other duties as assigned. What's Needed? - Temporary position for approx. 8-12 weeks. Full time, M-F day shift with 30 minute lunch. - Required: substantial accounting experience. - Preferred: 3-5 years of experience with cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or healthcare/medical device environment. - Proficiency and/or experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (i.e. SAP). - Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting. - Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, standard costing, and variance analysis. Ability to analyze complex data sets, draw meaningful insights, and communicate findings effectively to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. - Ability to interact professionally with users from all areas and levels of the business, influence decisions and facilitate change management through collaboration and leadership. - Ability to coordinates activities across vendor, end user and internal resources to achieve deliverables as defined in project plans.
