Our client is a leading mid-sized law firm with offices around the country . They currently have an immediate need for a strong candidate to join their Accounting as an Accounting Manager, reporting to the Director of Finance. Position is hybrid, reporting into their Long Island office 3 days a week (Wednesdays are a must). RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage, train, develop and motivate Accounting department staff
- Handle the monthly closing process and report distribution
- Responsible for accuracy and integrity of Aderant accounting system
- Process journal entries, handle bank reconciliations, and conduct account analysis
- Handle all banking and treasury including daily cash reporting; working with attorneys and banks on escrow activity
- Oversee processing of invoices and expense reimbursements through Chrome River and Aderant
- Semi-monthly payroll and related journal entries
- Responsible for 401(k) funding, schedules, forfeitures and loan records
- Fee participation and origination calculations
- Review Partner Business Development and Marketing reports
- Maintain Partner expense account spend in Quicken
- Responsible for calculation of addbacks for partner auto lease payments
- Assist as needed with annual financial statement review
- Lead the audit of our 401(k) benefit plan
- Team member for system upgrades and implementations
- Ad hoc requests and special projects
EXPERIENCE
- College degree with a major in Accounting or Finance, CPA a plus
- 4+ years of accounting experience
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- Law firm or professional service experience
- Experience with Aderant or Elite
- Experience with Ceridian and/or Chrome River a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel

The annualized salary range for this position is $130,000 to $150,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
