Job Description :
We are actively seeking a Construction Accounting Manager to join our client's team. In this role, you will manage accounting, finance, job cost reporting, and financial analysis. This role is essential to ensuring the efficient operation of financial and human resource reporting and serves as a key liaison between accounting, HR, sales, project management, and field teams.Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, including general ledger, month-end close, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR) aging, and inventory management.
  • Manage job cost reporting, including understanding indirect vs overhead costs, and perform monthly work-in-progress (WIP) reviews.
  • Oversee journal entries, including intercompany transactions, and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances.
  • Manage HR functions including 401(k) plan administration, prevailing wages, employee benefits, workers' compensation, and related employment issues.
  • Oversee quarterly payroll tax reporting, insurance audits, depreciation schedules, amortization schedules, and asset management.
  • Assist in preparing for financial audits and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Lead the preparation of the annual budget and perform monthly budget vs. actuals analysis.
  • Act as the liaison between accounting staff, HR, project management, sales, and field teams to ensure accurate and timely financial data.
  • Manage the full spectrum of commercial insurance programs.Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry, including 2+ years of supervisory experience overseeing job costing, budgeting, and financial management.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel; advanced Excel skills required).Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and cost control methods.
  • Experience with construction accounting software; Foundation Software experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience with union reporting and prevailing wage laws.
  • Experience in preparing and managing audits, insurance audits, and tax reporting.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning and long-term financial forecasting.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in financial reporting and budget management.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a team and coordinating across multiple departments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Salary Range:$85,000 - $125,000**The above represents the lowest to highest expected salary range for this job opening.
