Job DescriptionAs a valued contributor to our Payroll team, you will advise the team on the full-cycle processing of U.S. bi-weekly payroll. This includes advising on the collecting, compiling, and entering of data in the Workday Payroll system accurately and timely, assisting in providing excellent customer service to employees with payroll inquiries and managing special projects as required.THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKEThe Finance Shared Services - Accounting – Payroll Advisor role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care. You will advise the team to deliver on the following responsibilities:Collect, compile, and enter payroll data using Workday software and ensure information is processed accurately and timely.Process U.S. payrolls by established deadlines.Resolve payroll discrepancies and errors by investigating, collecting, and analyzing information.Upload Garnishments received daily to vendor.Reconcile Quarterly tax filings.Assist payroll team with new state registrations for State Income tax and Unemployment.Assist payroll team in resolution for Federal and State Tax notices.Perform Year-end Processing (W-2, W-2c processing).Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.Recommend new processes to improve performance and efficiency within the payroll function.Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.Manage special projects as required.Design and execute payroll accounting processes and related controls.Qualifications:THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAMMinimum Required Experiences6 yearsExperience with in-house full cycle payroll processing utilizing Workday.CPP CertifiedWorkday Payroll Certification or candidateHigh-level proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel)Desired ExperiencesBachelor degree or equivalentComprehensive knowledge of payroll practices and proceduresComprehensive knowledge of payroll taxation including local taxesSolid understanding of multi-state and federal payroll, tax, and employment lawsExperience evaluating, analyzing, and resolving unique and complex problems, and recommending solutionsExcellent oral and written communication skillsPositive attitude with a focus on providing excellent customer serviceGreat time management, organization skills, and dedicated attention to detail and accuracyMotivated self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentFannie Mae is a flexible hybrid company.
