Responsibilities:

PURPOSE: We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to work alongside our Riverhead, NY operations team. The Accounting Specialist will assist the Site Controller in analyzing and improving financial results at the site.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Responsible for placing and/or change purchase orders as requested
  • Accurately enters pertinent information for purchase orders into the computer and file correspondence in a timely manner
  • Contact suppliers to either expedite or delay purchase orders, and confirm on-time delivery status
  • Responsible to check all confirmations received from suppliers for accuracy
  • Schedule inbound deliveries to the site and outside warehouse(s) in TMS, selecting the most appropriate carrier to minimize cost
  • Assist in ensuring proper FIFO guidelines are being correctly followed
  • Direct Cycle Counting Each location should be counted a minimum of once per quarter, including off-site warehouses.
  • Backup PDM Position for vacations
  • Reconciliation of Variances over $1,000
  • Reconcile and adjust negative inventory
  • Review POU inventory monthly
  • Lead year-end inventory
  • Calculate cost reduction project savings
  • Assist with month end closing
Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent or 2 years of related experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in JDEdwards inventory functions preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, and Outlook.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, and can multi-task.
  • Must be fluent in English and have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing processes..

Compensation:$70,000 to $80,000 annually
