Job Title: Accounts Payable Associate Location: Olathe Grass Pad Status: Full-Time Reporting Relationship: Chief Financial Officer Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Some weekend availability required. Grass Pad is looking for a detailed team player to fill the position of Accounts Payables Associate on our accounting/finance team at our Olathe location. The ideal applicant will be a precise, analytical person that can do projects independently, while ensuring that accuracy remains at a premium. If you can handle multiple tasks, are a disciplined worker, and enjoy concentrating on the details, this job might be a fit for you. The ideal candidate for this position will possess high levels of integrity, intelligence, and initiative. The Accounts Payable Associate will be an integral part of the accounting/finance team. As an Accounts Payable Associate, your typical day might include:
  • Match purchase orders to vendor invoices.
  • Determine invoices due for payment.
  • Review costs and quantities on nursery purchase orders against vendor's invoice for all stores.
  • Update costs and quantities on purchase orders in Purchasing and Receiving.
  • Update cost changes in Inventory Maintenance.
  • Process purchase orders for inventory items, equipment, tools, and other products to operate and maintain the business.
  • Organize invoices and purchase orders for finalization and payment approval.
  • Enter invoice data into accounts payable system.
  • Review monthly statements from inventory vendors and other vendors.
  • File weekly payables into vendor files.
  • Create files for new vendors.
  • Create shipping documents for outbound UPS and other freight shipments.

Seasonality Our busy season spikes in the spring and the fall. Normal business hours vary with the season, with our longest opening hours during the spring and falls seasons. For most of the year, our stores are open 7 days a week. Weekend and overtime work will be required during the busy seasons. Education and/or Experience This position requires a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Accounting/Finance and three years of related experience, or five years of related experience and or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. During the spring and fall seasons store hours are expanded. From March through November our retail stores are open 7-days a week, except for certain holidays, and normal retail hours are expanded. The schedule for this position will vary from 30 to 45 hours weekly, depending on the workload and the season.
