ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERKSummary: Accounts Payable Clerk will join a friendly team that provides Accounts Payable services for the Ottawa Area ISD as well as five local school districts. This position requires focus, attention to detail, and processing a high volume of transactions with accuracy. Individual will maintain positive relationships with employees and vendors using excellent customer service skills in person, through e-mail, and over the phone. Key Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned): · Organize documents electronically and obtain approvals for invoice payment. · Maintain accurate vendor records. · Verify that payments follow established board policies and handbook guidelines. · Pay invoices by check, online, or over the phone by pcard. · Reconcile pcard statements monthly. · Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets to track and calculate payments. · Resolve any discrepancies with vendors. · Process employee reimbursements. · Assist in annual 1099 processing. · Assist in purchase order processing. · Assist with Independent Contractor contract processing. · Answer questions from vendors or employees. · Create and maintain instruction manuals for teammates to aid in cross-training. · Fill in for teammates during absences or changes in workload. Education:· A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional courses in accounting or mathematics are a plus. Work Experience:· At least one to three years of Accounts Payable or related experience. Skills:· Basic understanding of accrual accounting and account codes. · Experience with Enterprise ERP (MUNIS) or other financial software is a plus. · Quick and accurate typing including 10-key/numbers. · Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. · Ability to calculate percentages and discounts, add, subtract, multiply, divide, and estimate. · Willingness to learn new things and offer ideas for continuous improvement. Compensation:Grade 11. $20.51 - $23.00 depending on work experience and education level. Great potential to advance to higher wages.
