Job Description: SUMMARY: Responsible for properly performing all financial activities related to the Accounts Payable Department in accordance with established policies, procedures and controls. May assist the Payroll Department when necessary in accordance with established policies, procedures and controls. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Interacts effectively with the public and Team Members. Performs excellent guest service at all times. Performs all functions necessary to process accounts payable invoices which includes but is not limited to properly coding and identifying invoice type, matching invoices to purchase orders and/or receivers, acquiring appropriate approvals and entering invoices in system. Assists with all clerical and computer-related duties in area of responsibility. Maintains vendor accounts and positive vendor relationships. Ensures a maximum level of company-wide service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained in the area of Accounts Payable. Reconciles accounts on a regular basis. Generates Month End Accrual Journal entries. Assists the Payroll Department when necessary. Assists with the distribution of payroll checks. Maintains the strictest level of confidence when working in the Finance Department. A signed Confidentiality Agreement will be required upon hiring. Ensures the integrity of all financial data produced in Accounts Payable and Payroll. Communicates with all Managers and above as necessary. Maintains effective filing system for area of responsibility. Facilitates the flow of information by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings. Ensures to a high degree the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports. Maintains a consistent, regular attendance record. Performs any reasonable request made by management. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or GED required. Some college courses in accounting or related area preferred Six months previous accounts payable required. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess effective communication and organizational skills. Must be computer literate and do 10-key by touch. Basic Excel skills required. Must pass Accounts Payable basic skills test administered at time of interview. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to comprehend basic instructions furnished in oral, written or diagram form. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations.
