Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Clerk to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions, and supporting overall accounting operations.

Essential Functions of the Accounts Payable Clerk:

* Using the BankTEL software for Accounts Payable (AP), enters invoices routing them to the proper approver, and pays approved invoices in a timely manner.

* Reconcile Bank Utilities Checking Account and ensure each vendor payment received in Automated Clearing House (ACH) file corresponds to a General Ledger (GL) ticket.

* Verifies sales tax on invoices.

* Maintains computer reports generated from the accounts payable system.

* Issues checks in accordance with established procedures for distribution.

* Communicates with suppliers or employees regarding errors or questions on invoices.

* Reimburses employees for expenses incurred through established guidelines.

Other Duties/ Accounting Responsibilities:

* Reconciles Community Bankers Bank (CBB), Federal Reserve Bank (FRB), and Cash in Transit (CIT) Activity Reports.

* Teller cash balancing.

* Official check reconciliation.

* Federal withholding.

* Flood certification reconciliation.

* Other accounting tasks to be determined.

* Promote Information Security and Vigilance: Actively contribute to the protection of sensitive information, data, and systems. Adhere to established security protocols, remain alert for suspicious emails, messages, or links, and promptly report any suspected phishing attempts to the designated security contact.
