Responsible for accounting and clerical duties related to the efficient maintenance of processing of accounts payable transactions.
Duties Include:
· Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices
· Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
· Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries
· Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal id numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation
· Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
· Ensures credit is received for outstanding memos
· Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
· Maintains historical records by filing documents
· Continuing to improve the payment process
· Post Invoices from vendors
· Match Invoices to statements
· Maintain checkbook in Excel
· Maintain required records such as W-9's
· Scan Invoices into our Document Management System
· Flexible schedule and work from home after training
· Perform other duties as assigned
Accounts Payable Specialist Requirements:
· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
· 2-3 years of accounts payable experience required
· Knowledge of general accounting procedures
· Proficient in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel
· Able to multi-task and prioritize work effectively
