We are offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Accounts Payable Supervisor will oversee an accounts payable team, direct the processing of invoices and payments, and manage expense accounts and budget reports.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Interviews prospective employees and chooses the best applicant based on skills, knowledge, and abilities required for the job.
  • Trains and oversees employees involved in payment functions.
  • Directs assigned tasks and assists as needed.
  • Assists with performance evaluations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversees reports regarding cash flow; leads weekly disbursement meetings and should ensure correct payments are made promptly.
  • Develops guidelines for properly handling and coding invoices to maintain general ledger expense accounts and inventory records.
  • Manages tax payment process, including dues and statutory payments.
  • Analyzes expense reports and other invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment.
  • Verify payments before the manager's signature is added by reviewing checks and vouchers.
  • Reconciles accounts payable total and general ledger with other applicable records (e.g., subsidiary vendors' ledger).
  • Ensures proper recordkeeping of purchases for tax preparation and periodic audits.
  • Ensure employer identification numbers or social security numbers have been collected from all vendors for the payables clerk to prepare and submit 1099s.
  • Ensures proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records in case of audits.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Engaging in communications with internal and external parties.
  • Work with intercompany partners to manage funding requirements.
  • Manage corporate card programs.
  • External audit support as needed.
  • Establishing and adhering to appropriate internal controls for the area of responsibility.
  • Other Accounting and Accounts Payable related tasks as required.
  • Foster good relationships with Suppliers as it relates to payment terms and limits
  • Work on process improvement and improve workflows.
  • Provide periodic Accounts Payable related reports to management.
  • Actively manage cross-functional collaboration and communication.
  • Ad hoc responsibilities for the accounting organization as needed by the management.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in SAP S/4 Hana and Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Thorough understanding of accounts payable functions.
  • Excellent supervisory and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to motivate staff.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the year.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration, with one year of experience in an accounting office; OR three or four years of accounting experience with at least two years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
