Job Summary: The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all invoices and payments for the company. This includes reviewing and reconciling vendor statements, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The Accounts Payable Specialist will work closely with the accounting team and other departments to ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Process invoices and payments in a timely and accurate manner
- Review and reconcile vendor statements
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Manage vendor relationships and communicate with vendors regarding payment status and discrepancies
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Prepare and process journal entries related to accounts payable transactions
- Assist with month-end closing and other accounting tasks as needed
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all accounts payable transactions
- Identify areas for process improvement and work with the accounting team to implement changes
- Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives as needed
- Other duties as assigned within scope of practice
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or related field
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) preferred
- Knowledge of Great Plains accounting software
