Under direction, manages incoming payments at District Office by tracking, receipting, and reconciling payments into College's accounting system. Monitors cash balances and activities in all bank accounts. Prints and maintains security of all College's checks. Assists with other basic accounting tasks.
Required Qualifications
Associates degree in business-related field or five (5) plus years related job experience. Strong attention to detail with high level of accuracy. Excellent organization and communication skills. Basic understanding of accounting. Ability to work well with others work and independently. Keep information confidential.
Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. occasionally, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Salary $19.50/HR Typical Duties and Responsibilities
1. Reconciles cash received by all units of the District on a daily basis. Maintains checking accounts to assure funds are available for disbursements by monitoring the district checking and money market accounts.
2. Receives monies from federal, state and local agencies, receipting and posting funds into financial accounting system.
3. Makes bank deposits and keeps related accounting records and sees that deposits and banking information is transmitted to and from the bank.
4. Sets up wire transfer of funds for district accounts via on-line banking.
5. Maintains files on past due accounts and communicates with campus staff and collecting agency to aid in recovery of insufficient funds checks and past due tuition.
6. Compiles data to facilitate the preparation of accounting reports.
7. Prepares journal entries and other accounting reports as needed.
8. Responsible for the security and printing of all checks for the District. Maintains log records for check numbers and checking accounts used when printing checks, and makes certain they correspond with the financial system records.
9. Maintains a log of certificates of deposits, including interest collected for the year, and prepares report for year-end auditor.
10. Handles petty cash for District Office.
11. Works with campus Finance Associates on A/R related matters.
12. Is committed to providing quality service that meets or exceeds the expectations of internal and external customers.
13. Performs other duties as assigned by Executive Director.
