JobSummary:The Accounts Receivable Clerkwill assist in ensuring that the company receives payment for goods andservices offered to clients. SupervisoryResponsibilities:•None.Duties/Responsibilities:•Prepares, posts,verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accountsreceivable.•Creates invoices accordingto company practices; submits invoices to customers.•Maintains andupdates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailingattentions.•Drafts correspondencefor standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accountsby reviewing files, and contacts delinquent accountholders to request payment.•Creates reportsregarding the current status of customer accounts as requested. •Researchescustomer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of the CollectionsManager and other staff. •Collaborates withthe accounting department to reconcile accounts receivable on a periodic basis. •Assists in generatingmonthly billing statements based on the general ledger.•Assists AccountingManager in reconciling revenue accounts each month.•Copies, files,and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed.•Relays changes ofinformation to appropriate employees.•Performs otherrelated duties as assigned. RequiredSkills/Abilities:•Excellent verbaland written communication skills. •Proficient inMicrosoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting softwareprograms.•Ability tooperate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, andcopier.•Ability to workindependently and in a fast-paced environment.•Ability toanticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers. •Excellentorganizational skills and attention to detail. Educationand Experience:•High school diplomaor equivalent required •At least twoyears of related experience preferred.PhysicalRequirements:The employee isregularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, talk,hear, and see. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds,stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or reach with handsand arms. The environment is fast paced; time pressured and requires accuracy.The employee will regularly multi-task between projects, be required to movethroughout the office building, and effectively communicate. The normalenvironment is quiet and typical of an open office setting with some areas thatmay be louder at times.WORK ENVIRONMENT: The environment is fastpaced; time pressured and requires accuracy.
