Accounts Receivable Specialist - Careers : Job Details

We are currently searching for an Accounts Receivable Specialist for a Human Rights Nonprofit. This is a Full-Time, Temporary & Hybrid OpportunityORGANIZATION TYPE: Human Rights NonprofitLOCATION: New York, NY POSITION TITLE: Accounts Receivable Specialist SCHEDULE: 35/ Hrs Per Week DURATION: 4-6 weeks HOURLY RATE: $27-$31 Is This Your Dream Job? As the Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will play an essential role in supporting our financial team by managing collections and designing effective billing processes. Your work will be instrumental in maintaining our financial stability, communicating with stakeholders, and ensuring timely payments in a fast-paced nonprofit environment. Our Ideal Candidate:

• 3-5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, with nonprofit experience preferred.
• Is proficient in Excel and has experience using Word for document creation.
• Thrives in a small team environment, bringing strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
• Is detail-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

How You Will Spend Your Day:

• Contacting delinquent donors via email and phone to follow up on past-due pledges.
• Organizing and working with raw billing data to ensure accuracy.
• Designing and producing billing statements using Word, Excel, or other common applications.
• Executing at least one billing statement run and maintaining accurate records of all activities.
• Engaging with donors, clients, and stakeholders to address payment inquiries and provide account updates.
