ACH 16 ANTEPARTUM/POSTPARTUM RN Post Partum - NewYork-Presbyterian / Weill Cornell Medical Center - C : Job Details

Weekly Pay Range - $2266 To $2518Summary:Postpartum nurses specialize in caring for patients after the birth has taken place. They`re responsible for both the mother and the baby in their care and must make sure that they're well taken care of until discharge, which may take anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Reports to the Supervisor of the Unit.Duties and Responsibilities:Monitor vital signs of the mother and newborn.Continually assess the mother and newborn for signs of symptoms that could point to complications such as postpartum hemorrhage, postpartum depression, or failure to thrive.Bathe newborn infant.Dispense antibiotics and/or pain medication as needed.Educate new parents on how to care for newborns after they leave the hospital.Assist mothers to establish a breastfeeding relationship.Work alongside doctors and other nursing staff to ensure that the plan of care is being followed.Remove catheters following successful deliveries.Assist new mother with the emotional aspects of recovery after giving birth.Reinforce the new mother's ability and aptitude in caring for her baby. Refer parents to additional resources like support groups Check cesarean incisions if needed.Experience Education & Experience Requirements:RN license in good standing.Minimum one year recent experience in Postpartum in Facility.Active AHA BLS , ACLS , NRP Certification required.Job Disclaimer:Cynet Health is an equal employment opportunity employer.
