The Strategic Technology Analysis Group (STAG), part of SPAs Space and Intelligence Division, offers sophisticated capabilities (people, process & tools) to resolve unique problems in space, cyber, and special operations in support to military services, Secretary of Defense offices (OSD) and theater warfighters. SPA has an immediate need for a highly qualified JWAC Acquisition Support Specialist.
Position Description
Duties associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:
- Independently perform all acquisition support functions from cradle to grave for a given mission critical program.
- Provide strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff.
- Provide detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client specific or mission critical challenges/issues.
- Execution of existing programs and the development of new acquisition initiatives.
- Assist the government acquisition by ensuring that projects are in conformance with current DoD directives (i.e. 5000 and 8000 series) and the Milestone Decision Authority approved baseline as shown in the projects Acquisition Program Baseline document.
- Provide acquisition management support to the planning, organizing, managing critical aspects of the engineering, development, production and/or deployment of systems and equipment.
- Support project actions and activities to include meetings, vendor performance tracking, milestone planning, briefing preparation, staff coordination, risk management and decision document preparation.
- Support to the development of ongoing and crucial core protection competencies that advance specific projects/activities (including cyber) to deliver comprehensive, economical and actionable solutions for both programmatic and operational domains.
- Assist the government acquisition manager in the identification of solutions to balancing near-term results with long-term acquisition, architecture and strategic objectives.
- Assist the government acquisition manager by drafting reports on research and findings for the Integrated Project Teams (IPTs), Functional Managers (FM), and senior JWAC decision-makers. For program reviews and joint program reviews, assist with drafting procedures and formats for the IPTs to use.
- Assist in the preparation of Program Management Directives (PMD), Initial Capabilities Document (ICD), Capability Development Documents (CDD), Capability Production Documents (CPD), Combat Capability Documents (CCD) and Program Management Documents.
- Bachelors Degree
- Requires 3-10 years of relevant experience with DoD acquisition processes, procedures and functions
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Products, to include Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Top Secret, SCI/SAP eligible clearance required (SSBI/Tier 5 within the last six years)
