The Investment Management group at Jonathan Rose Companies is tasked with managing and deploying our private equity funds, and is made up of experienced, committed, interdisciplinary teams specializing in Acquisitions, Asset Management, Impact Management, Portfolio Management, Fund Accounting, and Investor Relations. Together, we strive to co-create innovative solutions that deliver social and environmental impact as well as competitive, risk-adjusted returns at each property that Rose acquires.Jonathan Rose Companies is currently offering a paid internship on our Acquisitions Team, based in New York City. The intern will gain exposure to a wide variety of affordable housing investment opportunities.A cover letter is required in addition to a resume.This is a full-time, in-office position with a pay rate of $40.00 per hour.Responsibilities:
- Utilizing proprietary data sources to conduct market research
- Contacting brokers and owners to source new investment opportunities
- Underwriting new investment opportunities through the development of detailed financial models
- Managing applications for project financing and public incentive programs
- Preparing investment committee memos and other presentation materials
- Participating in Investment Management team meetings
- Reviewing and negotiating legal documents
- Utilizing proprietary data sources to conduct market research

Requirements:
- Candidate must be currently enrolled in a Master's Degree program.
- Bachelor's Degree is a requirement.
- Ideal candidate will have a focus on Real Estate Investment, Real Estate Development, Business Administration, Construction Management, or Finance.
- Education or work experience in investment and/or real estate is required and may include one or more of the following: real estate development, private equity, investment banking, economic development and public finance, real estate property management, real estate portfolio management, real estate economics, design and construction management, or sustainable community development. Experience from top-tier consulting or investment firms without an explicit focus on real estate will also be considered
- Demonstrated interest in impact investing is preferred
- Knowledge and exposure to U.S. affordable housing programs (e.g., Section 42 Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Section 8, etc.) is beneficial
Skillset:
- Outstanding abilities in quantitative financial analysis with a premium placed on real estate financial modeling
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership experience and an entrepreneurial attitude is beneficial
- Capable with working in a fast-paced environment, both collaboratively with teammates, as well as managing tasks towards deadlines on your own
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint
