Job Description :

The Activities Assistant is responsible for working with the Activities Director to create, plan and execute programs that will give the residents interesting opportunities to enhance their emotional, intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual experience. This is a great opportunity to be innovative and inspiring. You will be working with other members of the Activities Team as well as almost all other departments in the building and have interactions with the families of many of the residents. Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, promote, coordinate, and oversee daily activity events within the community
  • Coordinate decorations, food and entertainment for parties, special holiday programs and events
  • Provide programming in groups and one-on-one with the residents
  • Create, design, and organize materials to support activity programs using Microsoft Publisher and / or Microsoft Word, i.e. monthly calendars, weekly newsletters, fliers, invites, etc.
  • Participate in family council meetings and pursue and address family / resident issues as they relate to activities
  • Participate in regulatory processes as necessary
  • Obtain new admission Resident Preference profiles

Educational Requirements and Experience:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outgoing and engaging personality
  • Experience in Customer Service, Senior Living and Memory Care a plus
  • Team player
  • Detail orientated
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including both Microsoft Publisher and Excel
  • Proficiency with electronic bulletin boards and social media postings
  • Familiarity with basic Audio/Video setup, FaceTime, and iPad / iPhone usage
  • High School diploma required and two-year college degree preferred
