Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Life Enrichment Assistant to join our team at Providence Rehab. The ideal candidate will have a passion for enhancing the lives of our independent living residents through engaging and meaningful activities. A background in music, art, dance, and theatre is highly desirable. This role is integral to creating a vibrant and stimulating environment that promotes social, emotional, and physical well-being.
Key Responsibilities
Activity Planning & Implementation
- Assist in developing and implementing a diverse calendar of activities, including music, art, dance, theatre, fitness, educational programs, and social events.
- Lead and facilitate individual and group activities that promote residents' engagement and participation.
Resident Engagement
- Foster positive relationships with residents, encouraging their involvement in activities and programs.
- Tailor activities to meet the interests, needs, and abilities of residents, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
Music, Art, Dance, and Theatre
- Organize and conduct music sessions, art classes, dance routines, and theatre workshops.
- Coordinate performances, exhibitions, and shows to showcase residents' talents and creativity.
Support & Collaboration
- Work closely with the Life Enrichment Director to plan and execute special events and outings.
- Collaborate with other staff members to integrate enrichment activities into residents' daily routines.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback.
- Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of programs and activities, making recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in recreational therapy, gerontology, or related fields is a plus.
- Experience in planning and facilitating activities in a senior living or similar environment.
- Demonstrated experience in music, art, dance, or theatre is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire residents.
- Creative and energetic, with a genuine passion for working with older adults.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
Other Requirements
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
