Position Overview:

SAMGI is seeking a dedicated Trauma/Acute Care Neurosurgeon to join our dynamic team. This role is exclusively focused on acute care services, with no elective procedures. You will provide comprehensive care for patients with traumatic neurosurgical injuries in an ACS verified Level II center, working in a high-acuity environment that demands quick response and expert decision-making skills. The position offers APP support, excellent trauma and ICU services, and a fully staffed follow-up clinic.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide acute care neurosurgical services for trauma patients, including evaluation, diagnosis, surgical intervention, and postoperative management.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including trauma, critical care, and emergency departments, to provide timely, evidence-based care.
  • Participate in follow-up clinics to ensure continuity of care for trauma patients.
  • Supervise and collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to enhance delivery of patient care.
  • Develop and adhere to standardized protocols and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Neurosurgery.
  • Fellowship training in trauma or demonstrated trauma experience required.
  • Unrestricted medical license to practice in SD.
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification preferred.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

Schedule and Compensation:

  • Full-time position: 183 flexible 24-hour shifts per year.
