Summary:

The ideal candidate is a passionate advocate for advancing additive manufacturing (AM) technologies, providing technical leadership both within a skilled internal engineering team and externally through collaborations such as contract research, partnerships, and consortia.

They will contribute strategically to the company's AM technical roadmap and drive its successful implementation, joining a highly regarded AM team with a strong reputation for innovation and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with clients to understand their needs and showcase technical expertise during the sales cycle.
  • Develop precise technical proposals and reports that outline project requirements and deliverables.
  • Manage projects, guiding teams to deliver quality results.
  • Mentor junior engineers in research, laboratory work, and development activities.
  • Deliver effective presentations to internal teams, clients, and at conferences.
  • Provide strategic input to refine the AM technical roadmap.
  • Conduct internal research projects to advance AM capabilities.
  • Operate and support various additive manufacturing systems and equipment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong technical knowledge in metal additive manufacturing and metallurgy.
  • Ability to collaborate with clients to define technical scopes for proposals.
  • Proficiency with design tools, CAD, data analysis, and process design.
  • Familiarity with data acquisition, sensor feedback, and mechanical testing.
  • Creativity, initiative, and teamwork in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
  • Willingness to travel (10-20%) to meet clients and attend conferences.
  • Must be a full US citizen (no green cards accepted).
